Cambrian tour (overnight) 24-25/05/2019
We venture to mid Wales on this overnight adventure through the Cambrian Mountains. On route we will skim past the western reaches of the Brecon Beacons National Park and explore the remains of the gorgeous and imposing Carreg Cennen Castle. We will then venture into the Cambrian mountains stopping at The Elan Valley to capture the unspoilt area made even more compelling by the dams and reservoirs which together create a wonderful, living landscape. we will then track across the mountain road towards Aberystwyth stopping at an old lead mine before stopping for our overnight accommodation.
The morning after we will start the day by exploring Devils Bridge, you’ll have free time to explore the area and learn about old Megan and the Devil. We start our scenic journey south stopping at Strata Florida Abbey a former Cistercian abbey, after which we will head back into the Brecon Beacons National Park and discover a mysterious Neolithic Standing Stone before reaching Cardiff.
